Date(s) - Friday, June 7, 2019 - Sunday, June 9, 2019
9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Our plan for June 7-9 is to go back to Haliburton and Camp Wanakita, where we stayed a few years ago (October, 2015 to be exact which explains the Fall photo above). People who attended had a fun time.
It is a camp with accommodation with several rooms for couples (the Bayer’s Den) and also cabins for men and for women.
Details are still being worked but there is lots to do around Haliburton: the Minden Whitewater reserve, lots of waterfalls, many trails within the Wanakita camp, etc..
The all-in-one price is $223.74 (tax included) per person. This is for two nights accommodation and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, snacks Friday evening and breakfast on Sunday.
We do need to make a deposit in early March, so I need to get an approximate estimate of the number of attendees in order to proceed.
So…please let me know asap (by March 5 at the latest) if you are interested in attending (and if you wish to stay in the Bayer’s Den). If your plans do change, that’s not a problem. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org (or mention it to me at one of our upcoming meetings).
Note on Camp Wanakita
Camp Wanakita boasts a beautiful 1,000 acre forested site, situated on the shores of Koshlong Lake in the Haliburton Highlands. The camp is a full functioning year-round destination for anyone wanting to breath fresh air and explore their limits.
The site includes:
- 25 kilometers of secluded wooded trails for hiking, running, biking, snowshoeing and skiing
- A full kilometer of continuous shoreline and sandy beach along Koshlong Lake
- Over 3 kilometers of river for eco-education and exploration
