Speaker: Spencer Wynn (Canada 150)

Date(s) - Tuesday, November 13, 2018
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Edithvale Community Centre - Banquet Hall

Our guest speaker tonight is Spencer Wynn, with his presentation “Canada 150”.

Spencer has spent over 30 years in editorial design, newsrooms, and photography. He currently is a media educator at Humber College.

A story teller at heart, his career has taken him to extremes. Using his skills as a visual journalist, designer and photographer, Spencer has lived the stories he tells saying, “One can only truly tell a story of a people or culture if you have lived with the people or in the culture.”

His Canada 150 presentation will go over how this particular trip began with a random e-mail pitch which eventually turned into a 14,000 kilometre drive. It will take us from the Pacific Ocean to Cape Spear on the Atlantic through images, stories and conditions. There are many stories and experiences along the way that will hopefully inspire us to take our own cross-country drive while falling in love with this vast country all over again.

Please note: This evening we have a guest speaker and therefore we will have a cover charge of $10.00 at the door for non-members.
