Long time TDPC member Vin Singh will discuss the basic concepts of filters in Black & White photography in film and how that translates to our digital cameras and subsequent workflow. The broader concept will deal with when, why and how to determine what will work well in black and white and how to get you to the final product. He will cover concepts such as layers, curves, dodging and burning in Photoshop. The overall presentation will be interactive.
Being a graduate in the field of Physics, Vin seeks and explores the beauty of the natural world. With courses in photography at University of Waterloo and Ontario College of Arts, Vin began his journey from Science to Photography, collecting a few awards along the way. Vin’s work has been showcased in Photolife, B+W and Silvershotz magazines and recognized as “World Class Photographer of the 118th Toronto International Salon of Photography”.
As an accredited judge through the Canadian Association of Photographic Art, Vin gives back to the photographic community by judging at many competitions as well as offering seminars.
