SUMMARY:Outing to Parc Omega
DESCRIPTION:Outing to Parc Omega\nTuesday–Thursday\, May 26–28\, 2026 (
2 nights)\nParc Omega is a large wildlife park featuring a 12–15 km driv
e-through safari route where photographers can photograph free-roaming Can
adian wildlife directly from their vehicles\, along with a few designated
walking areas. It’s a relaxed\, flexible setting that works well for wil
dlife photographers of all experience levels.\n\nWhy late May?\nLate May i
s an outstanding time to visit. Baby animals are very commonly seen throug
hout the park at this time of year — including young wolves\, bears\, wi
ld boar\, elk\, deer\, and more. Wildlife activity is high\, spring greene
ry is fresh\, and daylight hours are long\, providing excellent photograph
ic opportunities.\n\nAccommodations:\nMembers are responsible for arrangin
g their own lodging. Options include:\n\n \nIn-park accommodations at Pa
rc Omega (chalets\, cabins\, pods)\, many of which include park admission.
Most units have multiple beds.\n\n \nNearby Vrbo or cottage rentals in
the Montebello / Outaouais area\, often more economical when shared.\n\n
\nHotels\, motels\, and inns in the village of Montebello.\n\n\nMembers a
re welcome to coordinate privately with other club members if they wish to
share accommodations or travel\, but all arrangements should be made inde
pendently.\n\nLogistics:\nParc Omega is best accessed by car\, and photogr
aphy is primarily vehicle-based. Early morning and evening light tend to b
e most productive. Food options inside the park are limited\, so meals can
be planned in Montebello or self-catered depending on accommodations.\nIf
you’re interested in attending\, please reply to let me ( beancounter17
3@hotmail.com ) know so I can gauge interest. Additional details can be sh
 ared once we know how many members are considering the trip.\n\n&nbsp\;

? Through my passion for black &amp\; white photography we will talk abou
t reasons to shoot black &amp\; white and how color is a distraction. The
importance of line\, texture &amp\; simplification. How black &amp\; white
affects the emotional weight of an image and how it can work as an artist

was born and raised in Welland Ontario. As a kid I was into creative thing

Shortly after that I picked up my father's 35mm Minolta\, made my first pr
int in the darkroom and was hooked! That was 1997 and it’s been a creati
ve passion in my life ever since. Photography to me is such a great means
of expression. It's the exploration of your vision and ideas mixed with li

hese elements come together it can feel like magic. It’s addicting. I lo
ve how with a camera in hand\, you see and appreciate the world in a whole

ography allows me to use the other side of my brain for more creative and
enjoyable purposes. I have always taken tourist photos and my kids growing
up but it wasn't until about 20 years ago when I signed up for a workshop
on the Crystal Coast near me that my life changed. Now I use up almost al
l my vacation time traveling the world in search of that photographic adve
nture that is part of my bucket list of things to experience before it is
too late. I have been to many places in North and South America and to Can
ada many times also. I have traveled down south to New Zealand and Antarct
ica and even to Pakistan. However\, one of my favorite places has been Yel
lowstone in Winter because of the pristine and raw beauty of Nature with F
ire and Ice modes. I have given many presentations over the past 20 years
as a member of Carolina Nature Photography Association( Includes North and
South Carolina) organizing spring photo weekends and participating in Mem
