FOTO is one of several new apps that are challenging the dominance of instagram. These apps are being started by photographers who are disillusioned with what instagram has become and feel that photographers need something better. The app is hosting a global photo walk on Saturday September 27 at 8:00 AM at Starbucks, 4 King St. W, Toronto. This is not a club activity, but might be of interest to club members. To join, you must download and sign up for the app, which is free. It is called FOTO Inc on Apple and I believe has an Android version as well. When you sign up, you need to provide the user name you selected when you signed up for the app.

The walk is being led by Graeme Roy, an accomplished Toronto street photographer. You can click on his name to go to his website and see some of his work. This is an opportunity to try street photography and observe how an accomplished photographer approaches the genre. Note that street photography usually involves a LOT of walking and you will be active most of the time.
