Not street photography, but photography in the streets.

In my talk we’ll explore the use of light and shadow to create lines and shapes while showing the sometimes small roll man plays in the world he has created.

Bio

Graeme Roy’s career in photography has spanned decades, most notably spending 40 years with The Canadian Press where he served in senior visual leadership roles and shaped the organization’s photographic coverage. Roy built his reputation in the demanding world of wire photography, where images had to be immediate, accurate, and visually compelling.

Beyond the newsroom his personal photography carries elements of the news world bringing the documentary ethos and mixing taking daily life scenes with intense studies of light a shadow, with people serving as reminders of our sometimes small role in a bigger world.
