Lance Gitter joined the TDPC in 2000, when it was known as the Toronto Guild for Colour Photography, then the Toronto Guild for Photographic Art and now the Toronto Digital Photo Club. Although he never served on the board, he chaired clinics and competitions for many years and was involved in the day to day activities of our club, and was awarded Honourary Life Membership in the club for his years of service.

He is a 3 time Past President of the Richmond Hill Camera Club, and is currently serving as President again for the 2025-26 club season. He is also an honourary life member of the Richmond Hill Camera Club, where he also served on the competition team for many years.

He is a well-known photographer in the Greater Toronto area and is a nationally certified CAPA judge as well as an accredited judge with the Ontario Council of Camera Clubs, which in 2016 presented him with their inaugural service recognition award.

He helped set up the online submission and judging software (known as “EntryWizard”) for CAPA (Canadian Association of Photographic Art) and is a member of the CAPA competition team, specifically in the role of “EntryWizard Specialist” and has been awarded the distinction of FCAPA.

He is an award winning photographer in both still photography and in photo essay production. He enjoys all genres of photography but his forte and passion is his creativity.
