Overview

This SIG is intended for photographers who have been in the game for a while, may have entered a few competitions, may feel awash in their own imagery, and may want to get a handle on their own style rather than continuing to work within the competitive photography environment.  Sessions will be led by Pat Zuest & Janice Balesic.

Agenda

  • What is personal style in photography
  • How to define your photographic style
  • How to produce inspired imagery that reflects your take on photography
  • How to post process “good captures” to achieve your personal “wow images”

This is intended to be a support group that supports each other by:

  • Giving suggestions to help define personal style
  • Helping to improve images based on what the maker is trying to achieve
  • Sharing post processing techniques
  • Making us more inspired photographers … and not just focused on getting higher marks in competitions

Participants are given the opportunity to show their images, and to discuss the reason it was taken and the story or feeling they wanted to evoke. Then if the maker is open to suggestions, the participants can discuss the images, and possibly make suggestions on changes that might strengthen the image in support of the maker’s perspective.

Date & Time

Seven or eight sessions will be held as follows: Oct. 13, Nov. 10, Dec. 8 Jan. 12, Feb. 9, Mar. 9, April 13, May 11

There are currently four openings.  This is a continuation from last year’s SIG and 18 member’s from last year have re-signed.
