I became interested in photography in the 70s when I purchased a film camera after unexpectedly acquiring a darkroom. I used to spend hours in that room, then came kids and a long hiatus from photography and post processing. But I never lost interest.

I was lucky enough to find TDPC in my neighbourhood a number of years ago and bought an entry level DSLR, then another with 2 kit lenses that I continue to use today, plus, dare I say, my iphone.

I've learned a tremendous amount from belonging to this club and while I'm not the poster child for following rules, gearing up and entering competitions, I still appreciate them, the outing opportunities, speaker presentations and the wonderful photography that I'm exposed to. I enjoy the privilege of travel but wherever I am, if I am moved by a scene to take a photograph, I do, with what I have, and while the results aren't consistently what I'd hoped for, my interest in photography continues to blossom.
