Please join us for a visit to a farm for retired race horses. This is located in Hillsburgh, approximately 1 hour from North York. You will be driving through the Caledon Hills which should have some good fall colours. You will be able to walk through the barns giving you a multitude of photographic subjects. Of course, the award-winning Canadian champion Pink Lloyd, will be pleased to pose for you – if he feels like it!!.
After spending time at the farm, I would suggest driving 17 minutes to Alton. There you will walk around Alton Mill Arts Centre, including the waterfall courtyard. It is a heritage building that has been preserved and maintained to keep its rustic and quaint qualities.
4 minutes away is the Millcroft Inn which offers another waterfall.
After the shoot, you will be invited to spend time in Ray’s 3rd Generation – a great little bakery and bistro, on Main Street in Alton. We can meet at Ray’s for lunch at 12:30.
The retirement facility is a charity-run facility and would like a donation from our members to help support its continued operation. We are suggesting $10 would be appropriate and you should bring some cash with you to make a donation.
